Denise's Piano & Violin Lessons

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.

LEARN PIANO & VIOLIN ONE STEP AT A TIME.

Denise's Piano & Violin Lesson’s founder has had a love an appreciation for music since early childhood. As a little girl she was mesmerized by the violin, and often watched the Boston Pops Orchestra on TV. Her passion for music led her to develop her abilities as a violinist as well as a pianist. During her high school years she served as concertmaster of her school orchestra. She was also a member of the Camellia Symphony as the only non-adult member, and the Sacramento Youth Symphony in which she participated in the International Youth and Music Festival in Vienna, Austria where they went on to win second place honors.

Upon graduation from high school, Denise studied violin at CSU Sacramento. with William Barbini of the New York Philharmonic, and piano with Thomas Gentry. She followed her dreams to New York City, where she studied at The Manhattan School of Music and took additional classes at The Juilliard School. She has performed in Europe, and throughout the United States.

Denise is a mother of four boys, three of whom she has home schooled. She enjoys instilling an appreciation and knowledge of music to the next generation. Denise has been teaching violin and piano for twenty-five years. She spent the last three years teaching at the Enchanted Garden Music Conservatory in Ridgefield, CT and has recently returned to her 'home in the desert'.

Music plays an integral part in the development of a child. Denise believes it is important to teach all aspects of music.  She incorporates music history, theory, technique, musicality, and expression in her instruction. Denise is aware that every child learns differently, and takes this in to account as she teaches. Daily practice is encouraged for the young musician's development, and Denise teaches fun and effective ways to accomplish this.

Music lessons enrich the life of a child, and aid in academic success. The gift of music is something a child will enjoy and cherish for years to come.
